Construction Update: Plumbing

cottage plumbing

Okay, let’s talk about how fluid construction projects are…there are so many factors at play when you’re building a property that even with the best planning, something always goes off the rails.

A little back story, close to Thanksgiving our contractor was in communication with the plumber about coming out to install all the under slab plumbing. Each time we talked to him, he would say, “Oh, yeah…we’ve got you on the scheduled for Monday”, or “We had an emergency pop up, we’ll be out there Thursday afternoon”. Long story short, 6 weeks ticked by, and he didn’t show…over and over again. We eventually had to make the call to find another plumber. It’s never fun (or easy) starting over and having to find a new subcontractor, but it was overdue. Time is money, at this point, so each day that passed and he didn’t show was a straight up loss.

So, we got busy looking for another plumber. We were referred to Sunny Sight Plumbing. We quickly reached out to schedule an appointment and learned that it is a woman AND veteran owned plumbing company. We met with the owner, Katie, and immediately felt like her team was a great fit for our project.

After negotiating the cost and timeline, she was quick to get us on her schedule and within 6 days….6 days….she had the first 6 cottages plumbed! It’s wild to think that we waited around for the first plumber for more than 6 weeks, and Katie had it knocked out within a week of meeting her. We called the county for inspection and passed with flying colors!

At this stage in the project, the MVP award goes to Katie and her team! We are so grateful for her quick response and excitement to be a part of this project. If you’re in the East Tennessee area and you need a plumber, reach out to Katie Bailey at Sunny Sight Plumbing! Tell her Jason & Angela sent you!
